Welcome to my blog!
My name is Blake Sondgeroth. I am a higher ed professional with nearly a decade of experience in college admissions & financial aid. I currently serve as the Associate Director of Graduate Admissions & Student Recruitment for the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University.
I am a native Midwesterner born and raised in a small town outside of Peoria, Illinois. After graduating from Monmouth College in western Illinois, I began my professional career there as an Admission Counselor. In 2019, I moved to the suburbs of Austin, Texas, to take the role of Assistant Director of Admission at Southwestern University (Georgetown, TX). During the height of the COVID pandemic, I came back to Illinois to work in the financial aid office at Bradley University while I pursued my MBA there.
Education has been central to my identity for as long as I can remember. Both of my parents were first generation college students. Curiosity is my default setting. I’ve always loved reading and writing. Since I graduated from college, my goal has been to read at least 10 books annually. Feel free to check out my Goodreads account for book recommendations.
My other hobbies and interests include going to the gym, spending time outside with my dog, American traditional tattoos, traveling, and compulsively watching Saturday Night Live.
